Irving Lake, Vilas County, is a 427-acre shallow headwater, meso-eutrophic drainage lake with a maximum depth of 13 feet and a mean depth of 4 feet. Its watershed encompasses approximately 1,233 acres within the Manitowish River Watershed and is comprised mainly of intact forests and wetlands. Water leaves Irving Lake to the west through a culvert and flows into Ballard Lake. In 2018, 46 native aquatic plant species were located within the lake, of which slender naiad (Najas flexilis) was the most common.
